So, please excuse me because I have to go on a little rant for awhile.
Our last leg of the trip was on Ryanair. So, I expected the normal 50 lbs limit per bag to be converted to kilos and stay the same. Oh, no. Each bag could only weigh 15 kilos, or about 30 pounds. I ended up paying 260 Euros to get my bags to Alicante. That is about 400 dollars. Ouch. Looks like I will not be doing this again. From now on if we fly Ryanair somewhere for a weekend or something, I will just pack a carry-on backpack and even that I will keep to a minimum. We all had to pay and it was a tedious process getting it all sorted out. Luckily, I am in the terminal now and just waiting to board the plane. $400 lost is pretty painful, looks like I will have to make up for it by eating out less and walking everywhere the first month!
Onward to Alicante and trying to keep smiling! Lesson learned.
